Resolution in support of AB2764
Clubmember Dave Engle presented at our last meeting and solicited the club's support for AB2764 — "Moratorium on Commercial Animal Feeding Operations and Slaughterhouses".
AB 2764 is supported by San Diego City Council candidates Tommy Hough and Lori Saldana who spoke in favor of it during non-agenda public comment at the Thursday March 17th San Diego City Council Environment Committee meeting. A motion was also unanimously passed by the San Diego County Democrats For Environmental Action at their March 16th meeting in support of AB 2764. San Diego Unified School Board, Subdistrict C candidate Cody Petterson also supports AB 2764 along with Direct Action Everywhere, Compassionate Bay and many, many others.
Consider this unanimously passed resolution by the San Francisco Board of Supervisors on November 16th 2021 which inspired AB 2764 that makes many compelling points.
You can read more about the legislation here. We will vote on a resolution in support of AB2764 at our April 24 meeting.
