Neighborhood Town Hall: Defending Our Rights & Rebuilding Democracy
Tuesday, September 9, 6:00-7:30PM
From Wendy Gerlernter, who spoke to the club at our March meeting:
In these scary times (and I know I don't need to remind you of all the reasons it's so scary now), we need to band together to defend our rights and rebuild our democracy. And one of the best ways to do that is through neighborhood town halls, where concerned people can meet, discuss and plan. Our inaugural event will take place tomorrow, Tuesday September 9, in San Diego's South Park neighborhood, where the ICE raid this June enraged but also mobilized this community. Whether you live in South Park or not, you are invited to this free event to hear from some of San Diego's most dynamic and progressive leaders -- Supervisor Monica Montgomery Steppe and Council member Sean Elo-Rivera -- and equally importantly -- also to exchange ideas with one another. There will also be an opportunity to mingle over beverages after the event is over!
