June meeting: Primary Election review, Civil Discourse, and Summer Party planning
Next meeting: Sunday June 28, 2026 at the Point Loma Assembly 3:30 pm refreshments, followed by the meeting beginning at 4 pm
On June 28, Incoming Vice President Steve Rivera and Club Secretary Lori Saldaña will discuss election outcomes, including:
San Diego City Council District 2
— The Club’s endorsed candidate, Mandy Havlik, finished 4th, and Nicole Crosby will advance to the November election against Richard Bailey, former Mayor of Coronado.
Nicole will visit the club in September to discuss her campaign.

Good news for our endorsed judge candidates: Jodi Cleesattle and Tia Ramirez both won outright by receiving over 50% of the vote!
STATE RESULTS: Superintendent of Public Instruction
The club endorsed local School Board Trustee Richard Barrera, who finished at the top of the field with 1,554,975 votes! For full statewide results, visit sos.ca.gov
Treasurer-Tax Collector: Larry Cohen was our endorsed candidate
Larry Cohen will face a run-off in November, after finishing in first place with 47.4% of the vote.

Adopting a Code of Civil Discourse for Club discussions
- Samantha Jenkins, External Vice President of the Democratic Woman’s Club of San Diego, will lead us in a discussion of the importance of adhering to civil discourse during meetings, and how to engage with others in a civil manner. (The County of San Diego already requires this for all appointees to boards and commissions.)
