Apr 5 — Hands Off! Rally
On Saturday, April 5th, we’re taking to the streets to fight back with a clear message: Hands off! See updated details about the event below.

Where: San Diego Civic Center Plaza When: Meet at 12 noon April 5, 2025
We are meeting on the northwest corner of the parking lot at 301 B street, San Diego, 92101. We recommend you arrive early and walk, bus/trolley, bike, carpool or rideshare to the event. Please wear sunscreen, bring water and signs.
Register for the event here: https://www.mobilize.us/handsoff/event/766615/
This is a family-friendly, non-violent, March on this National Day of Action. The march itself is approximately 1 mile long. It will move at a slow pace and people will recite protest chants and proudly wave signs. You are encouraged to bring a handmade sign. We will be starting at the Civic Center Plaza, 1200 Third Avenue. The march will start at 12 noon, or very soon thereafter.
We are updating a WEB HUB with information as it becomes available. BOOKMARK THIS PAGE: https://takeactionsandiego.org/hub/
We encourage you to take public transportation to the event. You can find information about the Trolley service here: https://www.sdmts.com/transit-services/trolley. You can find more information about the Coaster service here: https://gonctd.com/services/coaster-commuter-rail/
The Evan V. Jones Parkade is located at Civic Ctr Plz, San Diego, CA 92101. Parking fees for Saturdays: $15.
For handicapped parking at the San Diego Civic Center, accessible spaces are available in the Evan V. Jones Parkade (Civic Ctr Plz, San Diego, CA 92101), with accessible parking on every floor and an elevator serving each level.
More parking and transportation information here: https://takeactionsandiego.org/hub/transport.html
Restrooms are located at Civic Center Plaza but we are unsure if they will be available to us. There are no portable restrooms available for this event. We recommend using the facilities at the train stations or using the restrooms at nearby hotels and restaurants.
If you are unable to join the march, you can stay in the Civic Center Plaza for the duration of the event where we will have a DJ until at least 2pm. Alternatively, you can set up on the sidewalk at the march endpoint — Hall of Justice — 330 West Broadway, and wave to the marchers as they pass by.
Wear comfortable marching shoes. The route is about 1 mile long and will move at a slow pace. Bring signs and flags but be conscious of what you can carry by foot for 1 mile.
Bring your own water, as well as sunscreen and a hat. And of course your enthusiasm and positivity!
We are not expecting any counter-protesting at this event. The local police will protect our route from traffic. We will have our Peace Patrol volunteers in attendance as well as first aid trained medics on hand.
Finally, for those of you who want to stay active after April 5 (and we know all of you do!), please check out our webpage, which will be updated with actions you can take to impact your community, your elected representatives and your democracy!
